Dr. Effie Poy Yew Chow

Late Dr. Effie Chow was an international health pioneer,  acupuncturist, a U.S. Department of Health and Human Services advisor, and a public health  and psychiatric nurse with a Masters in Behavioral Sciences and a Ph.D. in Higher Education.

She was not only the founder of the East-West Academy of Healing Arts, but also the founder of American Qigong Association and World Qigong Federation. 

For over 20 years, she organized annual World Congresses on Qigong, Tai Chi, and Oriental Medicine in San Francisco and worldwide.
