Inner Strength Training
Inner Strength Training is a dynamic mind-body class led by Tyler Ryan, who has studied with Lama Tantrapa for more than a decade. The practice uses opposing forces within the body: engaging contrary muscle groups, pressing and pulling the left and right sides against one another, and creating intentional resistance through dynamic movement, to awaken greater strength, awareness, and vitality from within.
Rather than simply moving through poses, you will learn to actively engage more of the muscle fibers you already have, while bringing awareness and circulation into areas that may feel numb, dormant, tight, or disconnected. Through mindful resistance and fluid movement, the practice can help release accumulated tension, increase mobility and flexibility, improve coordination, and cultivate a deeper sense of embodied strength and flow.
Each class explores the entire body through a combination of dynamic standing, seated, and reclining movements, allowing you to experience strength and mobility from many different angles. The practice gradually transitions from energizing resistance work into softer movements and self-massage techniques, helping the body unwind, integrate, and settle into a state of greater ease.
Inner Strength Training is ultimately about learning to work with your body: discovering how opposing forces can become complementary, how tension can transform into strength, and how conscious movement can create greater freedom.
Join Tyler Ryan every Tuesday at 5:00 PM Pacific / 8pm ET on Zoom for a full-body practice designed to cultivate strength, awareness, mobility, fluidity, and a deeper connection with your body from the inside out.
A Few Things to Know Before Class
Please wear comfortable clothing that you can easily move in. We’ll be exploring a variety of movements, positions, stretches, presses, pulls, and self-resistance exercises.
Before class, clear enough space around you to move freely and safely. You won’t need traditional weights, bands, or exercise equipment—just yourself and a little room to move.
Whenever possible, please keep your camera on during class. This allows me to see how you are moving, offer guidance when helpful, and make sure you are practicing the movements safely and effectively.
Please also join the class on time, so that we can begin together. The opening portion of the class helps establish the awareness and principles we’ll be working with throughout the practice.
Most importantly, this is a self-exploratory practice. Listen to your body and work at the level that feels appropriate for you. You are always in charge of how deeply you engage.
